Works on Paper

Drawings and collages highlight an underlying process that connects all my work. 

These works on paper are examples that appear to be entirely abstract. They are above all concerned with observing and exploring structure and ambience in the natural world that surrounds us. The device of outlining an area repeatedly with parallel lines draws both on soil formations and more transient patterns created by human interaction with the landscape. Other structures were reduced to the basic forms of line and circle.
They are a reflection of a way of living with the land and an approach to work that sees in landscape an endless index of possibilities.
